Kenya\u2019s far south coast offers one of the country\u2019s best marine day trips. From Shimoni jetty, boats head out to Kisite-Mpunguti Marine National Park, a protected area of coral reef and clear turquoise water, then finish with lunch on Wasini Island. The Wasini Dolphin and Marine Day Tour is a full-day excursion from Mombasa or the south coast that combines dolphin watching, snorkelling, culture and seafood.<\/p>\n
Early in the morning, a traditional dhow or motorised boat leaves Shimoni to search for dolphins. Bottlenose and other dolphin species are commonly seen, and the trip can be exciting when pods come alongside.
