Elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard, cheetah, Grevy\u2019s zebra, giraffe and a wide variety of antelope live in the conservancy\u2019s open grassland and acacia woodland. Because it is privately managed, some activities such as night drives and walking safaris may be offered with the conservancy, subject to rules and availability.<\/p>\n
Ol Pejeta hosts a chimpanzee sanctuary run in partnership with the Jane Goodall Institute, where rescued chimpanzees live in protected enclosures. A visit adds a very different side to the safari and is a popular family option.<\/p>\n
You drive north from Nairobi through the highlands, with a lunch stop near Nanyuki and the Equator crossing on the way. Depending on departure time, there is usually an afternoon game drive followed by a night at the conservancy.
